FutureLaw 2026, held May 14-15 at the Port of Tallinn, brought together ~500 legal, tech and policy professionals from the Baltics and beyond to dig into how AI, automation and data privacy are reshaping legal work.
Key themes included building legal-tech that supports human judgement (not replaces it), improving legal education to include tech skills, and emphasizing ethical, trustworthy practice. Especially when using large language models or automating routine tasks.
What emerged was that the value in law moving forward lies not just in the tech itself, but in how people, process and legal traditions adapt to use it well.
The conference showcased an impressive dedication to inclusivity, bringing together over 200 professionals from the Baltics, Nordics, UK, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, USA, Brazil, and more. This diverse group of legal experts embodied a shared willingness to embrace cutting-edge technologies. Attendees widely recognized the need for integrating tech solutions into everyday legal work, seeing it as essential for maintaining a competitive edge and advancing their skills.
